The Festival della Mente is the first European festival dedicated to creativity and the birth of ideas. It takes place in Sarzana at the end of the summer under the direction of Benedetta Marietti.
The festival is promoted by the Carispezia Foundation and the Municipality of Sarzana. Three days in which Italian and international speakers propose meetings, readings, shows, workshops and moments of cultural study, investigating the changes, the energies and the hopes of today’s society, addressing with a language accessible to the broad and intergenerational public that is the true soul of the festival.
The program includes a section for children and teenagers made with the contribution of Crédit Agricole Carispezia and curated by Francesca Gianfranchi. The contribution of young volunteers – each year over five hundred – is irreplaceable, contributing to creating the welcoming and sharing atmosphere that has always characterized the Festival della Mente.
The Festival was directed from 2004 to 2007 by Giulia Cogoli and Raffaele Cardone; from 2008 to 2013 by Giulia Cogoli; in 2014 – and in 2015 with Benedetta Marietti – by Gustavo Pietropolli Charmet
